30 Weeks-Maternity Pics by Olga

Happy Monday!  Instead of enjoying my normal day off, I sat through new hire orientation-fun stuff I know.  A lot of the information was the same from when I went in January, but now that I’m full-time I learned a little bit more about the benefits that I’m entitled to, including the different leave options I have for when Baby C arrives 🙂

After sitting all day, I was happy to finally get back home and stretch out my legs.  My initial plan was to take Oliver for a much needed walk, but it was hot, humid and extremely windy.  So instead, I did my bar method DVD and Zumba on the Xbox.  Things are definitely slowing down over here in the Zumba department.  I’ve had to modify moves both in class as well as at home and today, I had to stop and take a few breaks but I finished.  It felt good to shake out my legs.  I’m hoping to get a little walk in for the pup tomorrow but the weather forecast looks the same as it did today and Oliver and I don’t do well in the heat.

Over Memorial Day weekend, hubs and I had our maternity pictures taken.  Olga Thomas, our wedding photographer, did the session and we couldn’t have been happier with how our pictures turned out.  She made me feel really comfortable and told me that I had the cutest baby belly 🙂 She does amazing work and we have received so many nice words on both our wedding and now maternity pictures.  I can’t wait to see the newborn pictures!  Here are just a few of my favorites:

As I said, Olga does amazing work!  She started out as a photojournalist in Romania before being a photographer here in the states.  I’m in the process of putting up a wedding tab so be on the look out for that soon.

This week, Baby C hit 30 weeks!  This pregnancy (and summer) are just flying right on by!  Right about now, baby is about the size of a head of cabbage, weighing about 3 pounds and 15.7 inches long.  Baby’s eyesight continues to develop and by the time of birth baby will only be able to make out objects a few inches away from his or her face.  Baby’s little kicks and punches and have turned into full blown rolls and blows to my ribs.  I had my hand on my stomach today and the baby kicked so hard my hand almost went off of my stomach!  Strong little thing 🙂

How am I doing?  It’s getting harder to sleep at night.  I have no problem falling asleep, it’s the staying asleep that’s a pain…literally all in my lower back and hips.  I’ve never had so much trouble turning from one side to the other in my life.  I’m hoping that by getting back on a regular Bar Method schedule the pain in my lower back will be a little less than what it is now.  Fingers crossed.

Current cravings?? GRAPES!  I can’t get enough of them…and sour cream and cheddar Ruffles :-/ I don’t know what it is, since I’ve never been a chip girl, but these cry out to me when I’m at the store and I’ve caved a few times.  Anything cold for breakfast…smoothies, cereal, fruit, etc.  Still nothing too crazy like pickles and ice cream.

Onto week 31 🙂  This weekend we have our second baby shower in Wisconsin.  And nesting mode has definitely set it.  I’m after hubs to get some shelves hung before the shower and I put together our stroller tonight.  Only 7 more weeks until baby is full-term and at the rate people are going around me, I want to be prepared.
