Scorching Yoga

Happy Wednesday my friends!  How’s your week going so far?  I’ve been keeping busy over here.  December seems to be that way 🙂 Day 2 of the post-turkey day detox has been going rather well.  Here’s a pic from some of yesterday’s eats!

I started the day off with some hot lemon water in leu of coffee (that was a tough choice), I drank some kombucha tea and ate an apple with coconut peanut butter for breakfast.  For lunch, I ate the last of our leftover turkey and a few bites of the cranberry sauce with a package of almonds.  An afternoon snack consisted of green tea and a 1/2 of a kind bar and dinner was a heaping bowl of left over soup.

I left work early to hit up the gym and did 15 minutes of treadmill intervals and a set of arms…nothing too painful because I was saving myself for this:

They should really change the name to scorching yoga.  I forgot about what a workout this is.  I don’t think I ever blogged about my first Bikram Yoga experience, but I was NOT a fan.  I went in the dead of summer, the sun was beating down on me and I thought I was going to pass out and die.  To make matters worse, I tweaked my back and had to take a few days off from marathon training.

This time around was a completely different experience.  The instructor, Cornelius, was awesome and I didn’t feel like I was going to die.  WIN WIN!  He was very thorough in his instruction so I knew how to hold my poses and how to change them when something didn’t feel right.  I felt amazing afterward and it was something I really needed after killing my legs with Stacey on Monday 🙂

I’m glad I gave it a second chance and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back in the future 🙂

    I’m wanted to try hot yoga for a while now! Once this baby arrives, I’ll have to give it a try. I think it will compliment CrossFit nicely.

      I’ve never done crossfit but I can see how hot yoga would be great for cross fitters.
