Getting Organized + Erin Condren Giveaway!

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  I went to the Grand Opening of Barre Bee Fit Milwaukee, had a double date night to celebrate a friend’s birthday and then it was off to drill.  On Sunday, we got hit with some snow.  It wasn’t too bad but the roads were AWFUL.  I debated on whether to wait to do my grocery shopping until today, but I took my chances and went last night.  It was nice because the stores were dead and I was childless 🙂 

Over the weekend, I usually plan out our meals for the upcoming week.  This helps us to avoid eating out and helps me stick to a grocery list so that I’m not buying random things that we don’t need.  Here is what’s for dinner this week:

Monday: Buffalo Chicken Burgers (courtesy of Whole Foods) w/sweet potato tater tots
Tuesday: Crock Pot Verde Stew
Wednesday: Penne with portobella mushrooms, caramelized onions, spinach & goat cheese.
Thursday: Creamy Slow Cooker Tortellini Soup
Friday: Out to dinner

Instead of doing New Year resolutions, I make goals and one of my goals this year to get more organized 🙂 I’m generally a pretty organized person, but life with a toddler and a husband while trying to maintain a bit of a social life can get pretty hectic.  I try to write it all down in my planner but there’s not enough room to note my appointments, Madelyn’s appointments and other family stuff we have going on.  I’m not a huge fan of relying on technology to do it for me, because one never knows.  Enter Erin Condren.

I bought my first Erin Condren planner back in 2011 and I LOVED it.  First, there’s a ton of space to write down your schedule.  I never ran out of room to write notes.  Secondly, you can get them personalized with your name and by adding pictures.  Third…they’re really cute 🙂 The pages are colorful and each month includes an inspirational quote.  Unfortunately, when my suitcase was stolen last year, my planner was in there :-/  Instead of buying another one, I just ran to the closest Target and picked up a planner there because I needed one ASAP.  Well, look at what came in the mail today:

Besides offering a full monthly calendar, there’s also a place for you to plan out your week and your day by morning, day and night.  They’ve also added a special section to write down workouts for the day & meal plans!IMG_2364This is one of my favorite features.  There are pre-made stickers for all sorts of appointments to put on the calendar.  It also comes with 2 extra sheets of blank ones to write your own events down.

    I stay organized by having homes for everything in my house, and making sure each item makes it back to it’s home every day! My house stays uncluttered and clean 🙂 Great blog! I’m a huge fan of EC planners too!

    I like to take the time each weekend to plan for the upcoming week: I prepare food for the week, get the house picked up, and review my schedule in order to minimize surprises.

    I stay organized by writing everything on my calendar and using the sticky note feature on my computers desktop. I am always looking for an easier way to stay on top of things!

    I make lists per day and cross them off as I do them, I also sometimes add them to my inotes. Also, I do grocery shopping with preset recipes in my mind so I can meal prep and no food goes to waste.
